Mucky café, dirty deeds

Despite the advice from the stranger on the plane Robin, the man from abroad (who still had a red face) had arranged a meeting with the murdering thug with the gruff voice. He was in a poor state. He had not slept since reading the article in the paper. After receiving the advice from the stranger and staying overnight in a crappy hotel he felt like death warmed up.

As he entered the café the acrid smell of old fat from the cooking of bacon and eggs made him feel sick. He was physically shaking and thought that a cup of sweet tea would calm his nerves, but any attempt to lift his cup had it dancing in his hand. Richard, who was sitting opposite, smiled, took it from him and put it back on its saucer.

‘What the frig’s up with you? You look like you’ve seen a ghost,’ he grunted.
